GAME START!
Nightly Visitor
It hasn't been that long since your arrival to this island, and everything is still new. Each day brings new surprises and more questions than answers, and there seems to be no easy way to find out anything about this world. What little outside contact you get from the radio or your Friday visitors certainly isn't helpful in any meaningful way.
Unfortunately, the questions will only continue to pile up. Because eventually, after a week or so of being on the island, anyone who stays out late will start to hear strange sounds outside. They're almost animalistic, in a way, but they will not resemble the cries of any animal that you might be familiar with. This is Something Else.
They're not close to the Town Hall though, and the sounds seem to be coming from the North, but that is about all you can get without further investigation. And investigation may be necessary, as the noises will return night after night, starting right at sunset and tapering off as the sun starts to rise. Whatever is out there, it's nocturnal. And it sounds desperate.
What will you do? Will you talk to others and make a plan? Will you try to search for the source of the strange noises? Will you look at day, or during the night? Or will you use the radio to call for advice?

You can also use this space to play out any prompt from the test drive meme, or anything else you may want to do.
Everyone can do a search and get some plot information once per character. This can be done either solo or in pairs, so there can be some overlap to make sure everyone gets a shot at getting plot information. If A and B form a search party at night, then that will count as both A and B's searching. A could then help C make a radio call and get some information that way, but B and C could not then subsequently do another search (as B and C would have been involved in a search somehow already).
This post will be open to investigating until May 24th, 2021. At that point, no further mod responses will be given. Even characters who app in after game start can come in and investigate, so long as it is before May 24th.

[Let it be said that Yuri has always found ways to keep himself busy. Yes, even when dropped into a world he is completely unfamiliar with - even if it's as simple as keeping their main residence up to snuff. Yuri can be found keeping the Town Hall clean throughout the day, making sure things are where they belong and nothing's broken or worn out. If they're to sleep here for the time being, then it shouldn't be a mess, right? That's for everyone's benefit. He'll be back and forth from here to wherever else he might be, so consider this a catchall of sorts if you want to find Yuri someplace.]
B - Houses
[There's a whistle that comes from Yuri as he peeks into House #6.] Ah, geez. When they said nobody's lived here for twenty years, they meant it, huh?
[The tiny house is probably enough for him to manage to clean on his own, but fixing it up is going to be a challenge. Still, if it's so small, no one's going to notice if the carpentry isn't perfect, right?
Eh, that's a thought for later. Right now, Yuri is focused on moving everything that is inside this house to its front yard to assess what's there, decide what can be kept or repurposed or needs to be thrown out, and give the base rooms a good thorough clean. Repairs can come after he knows that, and if this works out? Hell, maybe he could help with those other houses down the line. Care to join him?]
C - Towards the North
...Okay. Nope, I don't know if I can handle another night of weird sounds. I'm going to check out what's in the area.
[Yuri says this to you with, notably, a sword holstered at his side and a...really creepy glove strapped onto one of his hands.]
What say you, friend? Feel like doing a little exploring?
[Do note that Yuri is going to check out the northern area in the afternoon, and he will be looking for traces of tracks or signs that a being has been through the area, whether they be animal or human or whatever else. He'll make sure anyone coming with him is back at the Town Hall before nightfall, but depending on what he finds, he might be inclined to go back after dark.]
B
You're hard at work. Do you think we'll be here long enough to warrant making these homes livable?

[Yuri plops down what seems like an old, old cookpot full of utensils in various states. The pot itself definitely looks rusty and generally not good to cook with, but it helps transport little things and that's the important thing.]
And maybe I'm a bit nosy about the world I've been dropped into so unceremoniously.
no subject
[At least they don't seem to have any ill intent, though they are basically trapped here...]
[He looks down at the pot full of utensils.]
And it does seem that we have little choice but to make use of what we can find...

[He's pretty sure this isn't the Sage's world, at any rate.]
But for everything to be left burned and abandoned like this... it seems likely something terrible happened here.
no subject
[He's hoping there might be clues in the more intact buildings. And not. You know. Possibly forgotten remains in the more destroyed ones.]
And is it liable to happen again?
no subject
[He doesn't trust these people entirely on blind faith, at least.]
...I haven't sensed anything dangerous though, so it should be safe enough to look through the houses.
[In case Yuri was worried, or anything.]

[He doesn't ask sarcastically, just...he wants to know who else he's working with here. What they can do.]

C
Yeah, sure. You think it's on the island with us?
[He's really hoping it's not on the island with them.]
no subject
Could be, could not. Maybe the sound's just carrying from somewhere else, or whatever it is only comes over in the dark. We're not going to know until we investigate. [A pause.] Do you want to bring a weapon with you just in case, or...?
no subject
[Present: Kurikara. Without the flames at the moment, since Rin isn't using his powers right now.]
If something attacks then I'll keep us safe.
no subject
We can both keep each other safe. [He pats the sword at his side.] When it's something like this, I've learned that looking out for each other is the better plan.
no subject
Yeah, we're in no trouble at all if we find danger. I can chase off anything out there that might try to attack us, I'm not even afraid of bears.
[Nevermind that there's no bears on the island, probably. They have no way of getting past the sea nets.]
no subject
Not even afraid of bears? That's a big claim - bears are not something to mess around with.
no subject
[Yeah. He's not going to kill the bear. He's just going to put it somewhere else.]

Either day, afternoon is better than daytime, in Kano's opinion of the monsters maybe being nocturnal if they're noisier at night. Besides, he likes being able to see, too.
He doesn't seem to have anything with him, nothing in his hands and whatever's in his pockets stay there. Really, he doesn't seem like the sort of person you'd want to bring along with you, but for "a little exploring"? ]
Ehh... Sure, alright, yeah! Whatcha thinking, something the cats can help with?
no subject
...Eh, you know, yeah, it's probably a good idea to bring one, right? You can be the cat keeper.
[At least if he's got a cat it can warn him of mysterious dangers and he can book it?]
I'd offer you something to defend yourself with, but I only have one sword on me.
no subject
[ He holds his hand out expectantly, as if he's had any luck requesting people's weapons like this. He doesn't want to be a cat keeper. What's he supposed to do with a cat? Throw it at a troll's face? Upper arm strength doesn't allow for that. ]
no subject
I'm not giving you mine.
no subject
[ Hands out!! he doesn't have the arm strength to keep them up for very long, so come on ]
